We have been experiencing increasing legal uncertainty for years. Instead of concentrating on those in need of protection and taking targeted action against abuses, the German Pension Insurance (DRV) is increasingly placing sole traders, especially highly qualified specialists, under general suspicion of pseudo self-employment. They are subject to high fines and criminalised as social fraudsters. The catalogue of sanctions has been considerably tightened.
