Our association represents the leading tobacco and nicotine products manufacturers within the EU. During this interactive session, we will provide an update on the latest key policy developments in Brussels and across the EU, and their potential impact on the tobacco and nicotine industry.
Our presentation will tackle the most relevant regulatory discussions. Learn how the latest updates from Brussels and the wider European landscape may influence our industry and engage in a discussion on what’s next for stakeholders.

Nathalie Darge

Nathalie Darge is Secretary General of Tobacco Europe, the Brussels-based umbrella organisation representing European tobacco and nicotine product manufacturers. A Belgian national, she has nearly a decade of experience at the European Steel Association (EUROFER) as a communications and public affairs adviser, and holds a degree in political affairs from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. In her current role, Nathalie coordinates EU-level advocacy, working closely with member companies BAT, Imperial Brands, and Japan Tobacco International, as well as other stakeholders across the supply chain. She manages relations with EU institutions and media, supports working groups, and monitors regulatory developments affecting the industry. Outside of work, she is an engaged parent and active in local social projects.

Filip Haugland

Public Affairs Director Tobacco Europe 

Filip Haugland joined Tobacco Europe in January 2025, bringing 15 years of experience in EU affairs. Prior to this role, he worked as an independent consultant and at the European External Action Service (EEAS) on Ukraine. Filip has served as Head of Office in the European Parliament, covering a broad range of EU policies, managed the Swedish Armed Forces’ EU engagement, and worked as a Foreign and EU Affairs Adviser in the Swedish Parliament. His background also includes consultancy work in Brussels with a focus on EU sustainability, technology, and health policy.

Alix Carlier

Alix Carlier is Public Affairs Officer at Tobacco Europe and holds a Master’s degree in Lobbying and European Affairs from the Catholic Institute of Paris. Before joining Tobacco Europe, she spent three years at Pernod Ricard in the “Alcohol in Society” department, managing the company’s global responsible drinking strategy, and one year in the textile industry within the Sustainability and Public Affairs department.
